Caring for nature

"Fanagoria" is responsible towards the nature

«Green Energy»

"Fanagoria" is responsible towards the nature and the environment, being one of the leading wineries operating in accordance with the principles of ESG. The production of Fanagoria wines already has the lowest carbon footprint in the country.

For "green" electricity generation at the winery, its own solar power plant with a capacity of 1 MW, as well as gas piston power generators are used. Altogether, this allows us to cover up to 98% of electricity needs per year on our own, as well as reduce the impact on the environment. In the near future, a unique for Russia hydrogen energy supply system will appear at the winery.

The first solar panels capable of generating up to 500 kW of electricity were installed on the roofs of Fanagoria's production buildings for the 2021 harvest season. The total area of the panels was 4 thousand square meters. According to the engineers, in 2021 Fanagoria generated over 8.6 million kWh of electricity, and actually consumed just over 8.3 million kWh. Thus, in terms of the total required volume, our own generation more than covers the needs of Fanagoria.

New ESG projects

The company continues to demonstrate its commitment to the principles of a sustainable economy and a responsible attitude towards the environment by modernizing production and launching modern treatment facilities. In 2022, Fanagoria put into operation a new complex of treatment facilities for the treatment of domestic and industrial wastewater, which is designed for a daily treatment volume of 500 cubic meters.

For Fanagoria, as a socially responsible company, caring for the environment and reducing the possible negative impact on it are one of the important aspects in daily activities. We will continue to introduce various technologies into our work to make our production even more environmentally friendly,” notes Petr Romanyshyn, CEO of Fanagoria.

For the construction and commissioning of the purification complex, the organization of a solar power plant and the purchase of gas-fired electric generator sets, Fanagoria used concessional lending programs provided by the Russian government. Total investments amounted to about 700 million rubles.
