On 6 May, the second batch of Fanagoria wines consisting of 11,136 bottles arrived at Germany. The wines were safely delivered to Dovgan Company, Hamburg, despite all logistic challenges due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Fanagoria Estate Winery proceeded with the wines German consumers had become familiar with earlier: red dry 100 Colours of Russia Krasnostop 2017, 100 Colours of Russia Tsimlansky Black 2017, In Bond 189 Cabernet Sauvignon – Tsimlansky Black 2017; white dry Aligoté – Chardonnay 2017; Fanagoria Sekt Rosé Brut; and Fanagoria Sekt Weiss Brut; all labelled as ‘protected geographical indication’ wines.
The previous export delivery to Germany took place in May last year. Both the titles of the wines and the design of their labels had been developed jointly with the importer specially for several German retail chains. Last autumn, all these wines with ‘German’ labels won medals at a major European wine contest annually held in Vienna: In Bond 189 Cabernet Sauvignon – Tsimlansky Black got a gold medal, and all the other wines were awarded silver medals.
The wines will be sold by several retail chains.
