Fanagoria Extra Brut 2016 Wins Bronze Medal at Decanter 2019

Fanagoria Extra Brut (white sparkling wine of protected appellation of origin, Sennoi) has won a bronze medal (89/100) at Decanter World Awards 2019, held in London last May.

Alexander Beryozov, Chief Sparkling Winemaker:

“It was the second official award of our novelty. In April, it was awarded a gold medal (87.6/100) at South Russia Competition in Krasnodar. On the following day after the results were announced, all winning wines were re-tasted by professional experts, and our Extra Brut won in the sparkling category with 92 points. Decanter’s bronze medal and 89 points are another marker proving that we are moving in the right direction. Notwithstanding the fact that the wine was crafted not using whole-berry pressing technique, it was the craftsmanship of our team that let it rise to such a high level. The first lot was released after a 20-month maturation on lees. Another 18,000 bottles are being matured at the moment, and I believe that after 24 and 36 months, we will find something even more interesting in this wine.”

Fanagoria Extra Brut (white sparkling wine of protected appellation of origin, Sennoi) is available at Fanagoria Wine Shops at 980 roubles/bottle, and in many wine cellars in Russia.

P.S. In 2017 at Decanter World Wine Awards, Fanagoria wines received one platinum, one silver medals, and a commended diploma.

Decanter World Wine Award is considered the most influential wine contest worldwide; this year, over 17,000 wine samples from throughout the world took part in it.
