Fanagoria Wins 3 Medals at Mundus Vini 2019

This year, Fanagoria Estate Winery for the second time took part in the prestigious tasting competition, International Wine Award MUNDUS VINI Summer Tasting 2019, that was held in Germany. Our wines showed an impressive result: we won two gold medals (including the champion title in the nomination Best of Show Russia), and a silver award.

Our medalists

Roman Tcaciuc, Fanagoria’s red winemaker: “A new high award given to Saperavi Fanagoria has once again proved that this indigenous Caucasian grape variety develops excellently and can give marvelous results in our region.”

Gold medals were given to the wines that earned at least 90/100 points; silver medals – to the wines getting at least 85/100 points. According to the regulation, max. 40% samples of the total number of nominees could be given medals. This is why our two wines got high scores but were given no medals – Cru Lermont Pinot Noir 201785/100, and Fanagoria Extra Brut 201686/100.

The list of the awards included 14 Big Gold, 818 gold and 928 silver medals. The jury panel consisted of 170 wine experts from 45 countries.
