Russian estate winery Fanagoria will become the wine partner of the 2019 Festival Septenbre Musical to be held in Montreux, Switzerland, on September 1 – 9.
This year, the Festival will be dedicated to Russian classic and modern music. Its program includes performances of the Mariinsky Theatre’s Symphonic Orchestra conducted by Valeri Gergiev, Russian National Orchestra conducted by Mikhail Pletnev, pianist Nikolai Lugansky, and others. They will play such pieces as The Rite of Spring by Igor Stravinsky, Petya and the Wolf by Sergei Prokofiev, excerpts from Alexander Raskatov’s modern opera, The Eclipse, Third Piano Concerto by Sergei Rachmaninoff, and Ninth Symphony by Dmitri Shostakovich.
The idea of the organizers is that every festival is dedicated to some country – its music, arts, cuisine and beverages. The Festival is intended to represent the diversity of national cultures to the contemporary youth, which is why the program of the Festival will include meetings of gifted children and youth from Russia and Switzerland.
“We will be glad to present Russian wines as part of the rich culture of our country to the Swiss audience, and we hope that the guests of the Festival will be pleased by their journey to the world of Russian art, cuisine and wine,” Sergei Storozhenko, Chairman of the Council of Directors of Fanagoria Estate Winery said.
