Fanagoria Gets Three Medals in Slovakia

Fanagoria Estate Winery won three gold medals at the 24th international wine competition, MUVINA, held in Prešov, Slovakia on June 13–14.

Our champions were:

Altogether, 360 wine samples were presented for judging performed under the aegis of OIV. The organisers had announced 52 classes, united into 7 major categories: I) white from nonaromatic varieties; II) rosé; III) red; IV) white from aromatic varieties; V) wines under yeast film; VI) natural sweet; VII) liqueur wines. As a result, 137 medals were distributed.

MUVINA reportingly is one of the largest wine-tasting contests in Central and East Europe, held annually at the Wine Museum located in the old City Hall in Prešov, nestled at the foothils of the High Tatras. The city is known to have been an important transit junction en route from Hungary’s Tokaj to the Czar’s table in St. Petersburg.
